Texas introduces bill to participate in SARA

On March 12, 2015, Senator Kirk Watson introduced SB 1470, which would authorize Texas to participate in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).

Higher education in Texas consists of 146 public and independent institutions. Key higher education stakeholders agree that SARA offers benefits to the state, institutions and students. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is expected to be the SARA portal agency. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's mission is to promote access, affordability, quality, success, and cost efficiency in the state's institutions of higher education.
